Reflecting on this year’s Cassiopeia☆Time.
Students reviewed their activities in Cassiopeia☆Time as their final task. They thought back to what they had done and how they had changed through the activities.
They evaluated themselves based on the following four standards:
1) to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to solve problems.
2) to acquire the ability to think, judge, and express themselves in order to solve problems.
3) to be able to play a responsible role in working with others in order to solve problems.
4) to be able to consider who they are and how they live through the activities in Cassiopeia☆Time this past school year.
This evaluation can be used by teachers as feedback on Cassiopeia☆Time. We can see the comprehensive results of this evaluation and confirm if the purpose of Cassiopeia☆Time has been achieved. The results of the survey will be announced later.
The top image shows the word cloud generated from the text mining of R80 reflections written by students.
1) Students were working hard to review their activities this past year; in particular, they could ask themselves, “How have I changed?”
2) Students wrote down their evaluation on paper and then typed the same text on their smartphone or tablet, which would lead to their metacognition. Students can recognize what they had done this past year. Their text will be processed and analyzed as text mining.
3) The goal of Cassiopeia☆Time is not to produce or present your ideas but to think about what you should be and how you will make your own future. In other words, the important goal for students is to get the mindset and abilities to solve problems.
